Heyyy, everyone!
In an attempt to get my writing ability back up and running, I'm starting to dabble in poetry a little more. ^_^ Take a look at my first creation...I'm afraid it's not the best, but, I'm trying.
My Treasure
Someone has hidden my treasure,
More precious than the finest gold.
No cup could ever measure
How much I care for it.
Someone has hidden my treasure,
More precious than the largest diamond.
At to my great displeasure,
I'll have to wait to retrieve it.
So I'll sit within the walls of my mind,
Patiently biding my time.
I can only hope and pray life will be kind
To my treasure, while we're apart.
In my daydreams and when I sleep
I pretend we have already been reunited.
But I'm afraid I can't count many sheep
For the weight of my worry is much too heavy.
All that I know is someone else
Must be watching over my treasure.
And I'm sure He will help me find it again
And not a single piece of its value will be lost.
So I'll sit and I'll wait and remember the day
When I first discovered this treasure.
I admired it, loved it so dearly,
And will continue to do so until the day that I die.
No matter what happens,
No matter who steals it or hides it again,
I will always find my treasure
And love every last piece of it.
