Hi, I'm Ashley Briarwolf (formerly known as Ashley E. Wolf). I'm known on KidPub.com as TheAshWolf. I love the Bible, animals, rain, writing, reading, K-Pop, tea, science, and sci-fi. My personality type is INFJ, and I'm also an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person). I have two cats, and three betta fish. I spend most of my free time reading, writing, and listening to music. (That is, on the rare occasion I get some free time.) My main focuses in life are participating in a door-to-door volunteer work/Bible teaching program, taking care of the house, and writing.
And now, a little about my book series.
Who is The World of Troodainia series dedicated to?
The WOT series is dedicated to:
My loving father, who has inspired me in more ways than one; my supportive siblings, all whom I love very much; my 5th grade teacher, who taught me to love writing; my dog, who follows me everywhere; my parrot, who never seems to want to let me write in silence; and a good friend of mine—the “Owl” of KidPub. Quack.
Who/what inspires me to write the WOT series?
Many different things have inspired me. A lot of my real-life experiences have somehow worked their way into WOT, especially into Book Two. The friends I’ve met, the enemies I’ve confronted—they’ve all done their part in writing WOT without realizing it. Many of my characters are based off of real people and animals, including Amber’s dog, Lion. Of course, music I've listened to and books I’ve read have also inspired me. And let’s not forget my 5th grade teacher. She really taught me that the hand cramps you get from writing for hours on end is totally worth it.
Is the main character, Amber, based off of myself?
Yes and no. Originally, Amber was basically me with a bit of sarcasm mixed in. Somewhere around the middle of writing the first draft of Book One, though, her character took on a personality of its own and she became a totally different person, independent from my personality. (Recently, I figured out that she is an INTJ, and I am an INFJ.) Sure, we still same some basic likes and dislikes, and we’re both blonde, but she’s far more bold, confident, slightly more logical, and a lot more temperamental than I am. Now that I’m continuing to edit Book One, I’m making her character development a lot more apparent, so I expect that to put even more distance between us.
How long have I been writing WOT?
Technically, I’ve been writing down WOT since August 27th, 2009, though the basic ideas had been brewing inside my mind since 2006. It wasn’t until 2009 that I actually started piecing different ideas together, creating characters, and writing things down.
When will WOT: Book One be published?
I have absolutely no idea! In the meantime, though, I'll be posting as much of it as I can on the Internet. ^_^
